Branching Out!

Over the past 6 weeks, I have had the sheer joy and privilege to have taught a group of English as a Second Language Learning students within North Somerset.

As the boys had been waiting for a college placement and they were keen to learn English, I was requested to visit them twice weekly for classes in written and conversational language.

Although most students were beginning at pre-level or level 1 English, they were diligent, enthusiastic and heaps of fun to teach. They also taught me a thing or two aswell- which I always love within class!

Over the weeks, it was fascinating to watch as the class grew in confidence when speaking, reading, writing and spelling in the English Language. Throughout our time, we played word games, painted festival charts and even spent some time team-building with sports in the garden for communication exercises.

This week, the course was completed with several certificates being presented. Everyone worked so hard and had improved enormously over the span of our lesson time.

The class will be starting at college next week, hopefully with a much happier experience of using English on their new and exciting venture!
